We have wonderful news.
Our proposal for the use of the old cottage known as Ned's Cottage has been accepted, and the cottage will now be available to Ashbourne Gaeltacht for Irish language events, heritage sessions and community projects.
A language lives between people, and now it has a place to live. Teachín Neid will be somewhere to practise and learn Irish, to share stories and local history, to make music, and to meet people who want Irish to have a bigger part in everyday life in Ashbourne and across Meath.
What happens next is up to all of us. In the coming weeks we'll be talking to schools, businesses and community groups about events and projects for the cottage. There will be an open day at Teachín Neid so everyone can come and see it, share ideas, and get involved. We're excited, and we're working towards a date, to be confirmed.
